Accountant - fixed assets (Anchorage, AK)

Harborlight Keystone Freight is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on fixed assets for carrier rates, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. We reward reliability. What you will do • Track costs around dock schedules against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Anchorage. • We reply to every applicant.
