Accountant - fixed assets (Albuquerque, NM)

Nova Cobalt Property Management manages apartment communities around Albuquerque. We are hiring an Accountant to take on fixed assets. Maintenance and leasing staff share information every day. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around resident events against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Albuquerque, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
