Accountant - fixed assets (Albuquerque, NM)

We are growing our team at Cedar Timber Manufacturing and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be fixed assets. Shifts are steady and overtime is planned. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around customer orders against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with scrap and rework. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Albuquerque. • We reply to every applicant.
