Accountant - audit preparation (Wichita, KS)

Lumen Drift Foods makes sauces, snacks and prepared meals in Wichita. We are hiring an Accountant to take on audit preparation. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to ingredient orders, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around production batches against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Wichita. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
