Accountant - audit preparation (Wichita, KS)

Amberfield Lakeside Transit Planning helps transport agencies around Wichita design routes and schedules. We are hiring an Accountant to take on audit preparation. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Wichita. What you will do • Track costs around survey data against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to accessibility audits, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with accessibility audits. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in Wichita, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
