Accountant - audit preparation (Wichita, KS)

Silverline Cedar Inspection Services provides independent inspection and testing for industry across Wichita, and we need an Accountant to lead our audit preparation. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to equipment calibration, and clear open items. • Track costs around test reports against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with equipment calibration. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in Wichita, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
