Accountant - audit preparation (Virginia Beach, VA)

Amberfield North Medical Group builds devices used by hospitals and clinics, with its team based in Virginia Beach, and we need an Accountant to lead our audit preparation. Documentation is part of the craft. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around clinical evaluations against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with production lots. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Virginia Beach. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
