Accountant - audit preparation (Virginia Beach, VA)

Highbridge Labs prints books, catalogues and packaging from its Virginia Beach plant. We are hiring an Accountant to take on audit preparation. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Track costs around bindery work against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to customer orders, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with customer orders. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Virginia Beach, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
