Accountant - audit preparation (Virginia Beach, VA)

We are growing our team at Greenridge Fox Learning Group and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be audit preparation. Collaboration between teachers and staff is strong. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to student accounts, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around learning materials against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with student accounts. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • On site in Virginia Beach, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
