Accountant - audit preparation (Virginia Beach, VA)

Redstone Analytics is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on audit preparation for production lots, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Documentation is part of the craft. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around complaint handling against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with production lots. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Virginia Beach. • We reply to every applicant.
