Accountant - audit preparation (Tulsa, OK)

Northwind Maple Housing is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on audit preparation for rent assistance, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to rent assistance, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around repair requests against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with rent assistance. • A degree or certificate in accounting.
