Accountant - audit preparation (Tulsa, OK)

Westbrook Ember Water Authority is a public water utility serving the Tulsa area. We are hiring an Accountant to take on audit preparation. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around capital projects against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with billing accounts. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Tulsa. • We reply to every applicant.
