Accountant - audit preparation (Toledo, OH)

Northwind River Press Group produces print and digital publications in Toledo. We are hiring an Accountant to take on audit preparation. Many of us have been here for ten years or more. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around customer orders against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with press runs. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • On site in Toledo. • We reply to every applicant.
