Accountant - audit preparation (Toledo, OH)

Redstone Forge Transit Planning Group helps transport agencies around Toledo design routes and schedules, and we need an Accountant to lead our audit preparation. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Toledo. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around route schedules against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Toledo. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
