Accountant - audit preparation (Toledo, OH)

Fernwood Wilder Learning Group is an education provider in Toledo serving students and families. We are hiring an Accountant to take on audit preparation. Collaboration between teachers and staff is strong. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around learning materials against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to enrolment, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with enrolment. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • On site in Toledo, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
