Accountant - audit preparation (Toledo, OH)

Cedar Ashton Inspection Services provides independent inspection and testing for industry across Toledo, and we need an Accountant to lead our audit preparation. Independence and accuracy are our product. What you will do • Track costs around field inspections against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to scheduling, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with scheduling.
