Accountant - audit preparation (Toledo, OH)

Highbridge West Arts Center Group is an arts centre in Toledo with a full calendar of events. We are hiring an Accountant to take on audit preparation. You would join a large organisation of about 231 people based in Toledo. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with visitor services. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Toledo, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
