Accountant - audit preparation (Tampa, FL)

Fernwood Analytics is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on audit preparation for materials orders, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Good people move up quickly. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around change orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with materials orders. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Tampa, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
