Accountant - audit preparation (St. Louis, MO)

Silverline Cedar Inspection Services is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on audit preparation for field inspections, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of about 348 people based in St. Louis. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to field inspections, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around test reports against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with field inspections.
