Accountant - audit preparation (St. Louis, MO)

Greenridge Yarrow Foods makes sauces, snacks and prepared meals in St. Louis, and we need an Accountant to lead our audit preparation. We like people who take pride in what they make. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around cold storage against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with ingredient orders. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in St. Louis. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
