Accountant - audit preparation (Spokane, WA)

Highbridge Labs produces print and digital publications in Spokane. We are hiring an Accountant to take on audit preparation. Many of us have been here for ten years or more. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to customer orders, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around proofing against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with customer orders. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Spokane. • We reply to every applicant.
