Accountant - audit preparation (Spokane, WA)

Westbrook Harbor Freight is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on audit preparation for customer tracking, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Dispatch, drivers and warehouse staff talk to each other constantly. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to customer tracking, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around dock schedules against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with customer tracking. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Spokane, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
