Accountant - audit preparation (Spokane, WA)

We are growing our team at Westbrook Corner Construction and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be audit preparation. Good people move up quickly. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around project schedules against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with safety records. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Spokane. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
