Accountant - audit preparation (Spokane, WA)

Northwind Wilder Press is a printer and publisher in Spokane serving local and national clients. We are hiring an Accountant to take on audit preparation. You would join a small organisation of about 41 people based in Spokane. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around print quotes against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to customer orders, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Spokane. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
