Accountant - audit preparation (Seattle, WA)

Clearpath Thistle Insurance Partners is an insurance company in Seattle with claims and service teams, and we need an Accountant to lead our audit preparation. We invest in training for new adjusters. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around underwriting files against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to claims, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with claims. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Seattle. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
