Accountant - audit preparation (Savannah, GA)

Lumen River Press Group is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on audit preparation for paper stock, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Many of us have been here for ten years or more. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to paper stock, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around bindery work against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with paper stock. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Savannah, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
