Accountant - audit preparation (Savannah, GA)

We are growing our team at Northwind Glen Hospitality and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be audit preparation. You would join a large organisation of about 725 people based in Savannah. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to housekeeping schedules, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around group events against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Savannah. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
