Accountant - audit preparation (Savannah, GA)

We are growing our team at Ironwood Ashton Facilities and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be audit preparation. You would join a large organisation of about 694 people based in Savannah. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around contractor visits against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to customer sites, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with customer sites. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Savannah, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
