Accountant - audit preparation (Savannah, GA)

Cedar Ivory Foods produces packaged foods at its Savannah plant, and we need an Accountant to lead our audit preparation. Shifts are steady and overtime is planned. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to cold storage, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with cold storage. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in Savannah, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
