Accountant - audit preparation (Savannah, GA)

We are growing our team at Silverline Pike Markets and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be audit preparation. We are friendly and busy, especially on weekends. What you will do • Track costs around promotions against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to shrink and waste, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with shrink and waste. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Savannah. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
