Accountant - audit preparation (Savannah, GA)

We are growing our team at Westbrook Ember Manufacturing and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be audit preparation. Many of our supervisors started on the floor. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to tooling, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around customer orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with tooling. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Savannah, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
