Accountant - audit preparation (San Jose, CA)

Rivermark Sparrow Environmental Services Partners serves homes and businesses with collection and disposal in San Jose. We are hiring an Accountant to take on audit preparation. You would join a small organisation of about 178 people based in San Jose. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around weigh tickets against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with fleet maintenance. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in San Jose. • We reply to every applicant.
