Accountant - audit preparation (San Diego, CA)

Harborlight Amber Early Learning operates neighbourhood childcare around San Diego, and we need an Accountant to lead our audit preparation. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to classroom supplies, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with classroom supplies. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in San Diego. • We reply to every applicant.
