Accountant - audit preparation (San Diego, CA)

Foxglove Ivory Foods is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on audit preparation for ingredient orders, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 90 people based in San Diego. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around cold storage against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in San Diego. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
