Accountant - audit preparation (San Diego, CA)

Stonegate Keystone Freight is a San Diego logistics company with trucks, warehouses and dispatch, and we need an Accountant to lead our audit preparation. Dispatch, drivers and warehouse staff talk to each other constantly. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to dock schedules, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in San Diego, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
