Accountant - audit preparation (San Diego, CA)

Nova Corner Auto Group Partners is a San Diego company supplying vehicle parts and service. We are hiring an Accountant to take on audit preparation. You would join a small organisation of about 103 people based in San Diego. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around service appointments against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with parts orders. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in San Diego, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
