Accountant - audit preparation (San Antonio, TX)

Silverline Basin Foods produces packaged foods at its San Antonio plant, and we need an Accountant to lead our audit preparation. We like people who take pride in what they make. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around sanitation schedules against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to ingredient orders, and clear open items. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with ingredient orders. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in San Antonio, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
