Accountant - audit preparation (San Antonio, TX)

Cedar Fox Construction is a San Antonio contractor with project managers, trades and support staff. We are hiring an Accountant to take on audit preparation. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around materials orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to safety records, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with safety records. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in San Antonio. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
