Accountant - audit preparation (San Antonio, TX)

Northwind Rook Housing manages affordable housing communities across San Antonio. We are hiring an Accountant to take on audit preparation. Housing is our mission and residents are our neighbours. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around resident services against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to waiting lists, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in San Antonio, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
