Accountant - audit preparation (Salt Lake City, UT)

Lumen Granite Learning Group operates schools and learning programmes around Salt Lake City. We are hiring an Accountant to take on audit preparation. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Salt Lake City. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to enrolment, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with enrolment. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Salt Lake City, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
