Accountant - audit preparation (Salt Lake City, UT)

Summit Mill Arts Center Partners is a cultural organisation in Salt Lake City presenting exhibitions and performances. We are hiring an Accountant to take on audit preparation. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to exhibitions, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with exhibitions. • A degree or certificate in accounting.
