Accountant - audit preparation (Sacramento, CA)

Northwind Sable Auto Group is a Sacramento company supplying vehicle parts and service, and we need an Accountant to lead our audit preparation. Service hours are steady. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to supplier deliveries, and clear open items. • Track costs around service appointments against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with supplier deliveries. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Sacramento, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
