Accountant - audit preparation (Sacramento, CA)

Bluepeak Union Environmental Services serves homes and businesses with collection and disposal in Sacramento, and we need an Accountant to lead our audit preparation. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to service complaints, and clear open items. • Track costs around fleet maintenance against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with service complaints. • Familiarity with audit requirements.
