Accountant - audit preparation (Sacramento, CA)

Stonegate Mill Care Services supports families and individuals in Sacramento with personal care and coordination. We are hiring an Accountant to take on audit preparation. The work is personal and so is the culture. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to family communication, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around care plans against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Sacramento. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
