Accountant - audit preparation (Richmond, VA)

Foxglove Ivory Banking Services is a regional lender in Richmond with branches and a growing mobile service, and we need an Accountant to lead our audit preparation. You would join a large organisation of about 860 people based in Richmond. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to branch operations, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around account openings against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with branch operations. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • On site in Richmond, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
