Accountant - audit preparation (Richmond, VA)

Redstone Glen Hospitality is a hospitality company in Richmond with restaurants, rooms and catering. We are hiring an Accountant to take on audit preparation. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Richmond. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to guest bookings, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around food costs against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Richmond. • We reply to every applicant.
