Accountant - audit preparation (Richmond, VA)

Silverline Meadow Press Group is a printer and publisher in Richmond serving local and national clients. We are hiring an Accountant to take on audit preparation. We like people who notice details. What you will do • Track costs around proofing against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to customer orders, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with customer orders. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Richmond. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
