Accountant - audit preparation (Reno, NV)

Highbridge Juniper Arts Center is a cultural organisation in Reno presenting exhibitions and performances, and we need an Accountant to lead our audit preparation. You would join a large organisation of about 549 people based in Reno. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around visitor services against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with school partnerships. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Reno. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
