Accountant - audit preparation (remote)

Amberfield Loom Auto Group operates automotive service and parts businesses around New Orleans, and we need an Accountant to lead our audit preparation. Customers come back because we explain what they need and what they do not. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around warranty claims against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with supplier deliveries. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in New Orleans. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
