Accountant - audit preparation (remote)

Silverline Rowan Freight is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on audit preparation for loads and lanes, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to loads and lanes, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around dock schedules against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with loads and lanes. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Nashville. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
